Umm.. yea. That sounds about right.

He needs a good kick in the butt. I bet you his parents made him get the job to earn spending money and he's just resentful he's not at home playing his Xbox.

Oh, I will definitely be reminding him about the bedframe next time he suggests such a project! Thats (in my opinion) the best part of the whole thing, the leverage :)

Well if he learned some things from the experience (measure twice, cut once, maybe?), then it seems like it was worth it to him. And maybe the next time he is planning a project like this, you can remind him of the bedframe, and get him to make a budget for the costs beforehand! ;)

Some offices have limits on the amount of money you can spend and get reimbursed for, some offices expect you to act like an adult and not over indulge! I do think offices realize that the hotel resteraunt will be a tad more expensive than a"regular resteraunt" and are not going to complain that you spent $40 on dinner. In future, you may want to check to see if your Human Resource department has guidelines that you may want to follow for future trips.

I just came back from a conference myself, I billed the office for my plane ticket, hotel, meals and some incidentals. No body blinked an eye when I turned in my expense voucher. I also worked for a company that made it very clear what expenses would be paid for and which ones would not be, right down to the hotel chain we could book rooms at.

Your expenses seem quite reasonable for the area you traveled to and from.

Hope you're feeling better. That kind of thing would paralyze me, I'd have to spend at least half a day overthinking it.

My bank tells me they charge 2.5% interest, when actually around 50% of my bill payments go to markup settlement. :s

I don't like that idea either. Come end of October, I'm unemployed. But as long as we're saving bunches of cash to keep afloat for a while until we can find our next job, we shouldn't stress so much - right?
